Blood donation initiative attended by Soler
Carlos Soler was at Mestalla on Tuesday, but for a different reason than to play a match in LaLiga or the Champions League. The midfielder was representing the squad in a visit to a blood drive, set up by the club, the VCF Foundation and the Valencian regional Blood Transfusion centre.

The initiative saw some 2,300 units of blood donated, and the fans who attended to make their contributions left with a ticket for Valencia CF's game against Real Betis this weekend.
"It's something very important. A lot of people have come along today; there have even been queues to donate blood in this action to help those who need it," said Soler to VCF Media.

"Besides how important it is to donate blood, they've been given a ticket for Saturday -a very important game for us. It's a day in which we all need to be united; we're coming off a negative run, but we are very strong here at Mestalla and we have to continue like that. With the support of all the Valencianistas and the people who have come to donate blood, it will be much easier."

Soler also commented on the team's objectives for the remainder of the season.
"The main targets, such as getting into the Champions League, are there. We have to work in training and correct the mistakes we have made in recent games," he explained.
